Because it's hard to be hungry, hurt, & homeless.
Give Me a Paw is a no-kill dog shelter dedicated to improving the welfare of stray and abandoned dogs in Lebanon.
The Give Me A Paw Shelter

It all started in 2017 when [FEW SENTENCES FROM TAMARA ABOUT GMAP START & HISTORY/GROWTH].
Our shelter is located in a pine forest in eastern Lebanon, Ras el Matn. We strive to make this space a safe haven for our rescues where they can feel a sense of belonging and love while they await their forever home.

3 packs that make up the 110+ residents
Our shelter dogs are divided into 3 packs depending on their character, temperament, and relationship with the other dogs in the group. Each pack has access to their own outdoor playground, sleeping and feeding quarters.
A natural landscape where the dogs can feel safe
It’s imperative for us that our shelter is in an outdoor space that can give the dogs a sense of freedom and connection to nature. Surrounded by a pine forest and near a waterfall and river, we take the dogs daily on nature walks.

Shelter days for visitors and extra TLC
We organize a Shelter Day every Saturday (weather permitting) where all visitors are welcome to visit our space and interact with the shelter dogs. Shelter Days are core to the GMAP shelter as it gives the dogs the chance to interact with people, receive cuddles, get groomed and go on a pack walk.

Attentive care from our on-site staff and dedicated volunteers
I think talking about the on-site staff is very valuable to show they are getting good care and aren’t being neglected, but not sure how you want to phrase this.

Upgrades needed
Despite being in a beautiful remote area where the dogs are safe and cared for, our shelter faces several challenges and that’s why we’re fundraising for the following necessities to improve our access and care.
We need a 4×4 shelter car
Part of the road to the shelter is not paved, which makes it at times impossible to arrive to the shelter during harsh storms – which poses a huge risk for emergencies. Furthermore, we rely on 4×4 taxis to go to and from the shelter which is extremely costly (see expenses here).
Having a dedicated shelter car will not only save us money in the long run, it will also ensure that we have the ability to take immediate action for new rescues and emergencies.
We need …. ANYTHING NEW IN OUR WISHLIST
Solar system or generator? What’s the ideal way of getting this, a used one donated or a discounted offer… ?
