Our story
A story of compassion, rescue, and a growing community.
It started with Bloomy
It all began in 2017, when Tamara started caring for five strays in her neighborhood, until threats to poison them forced her to find a safe place for them. During that search, she came across Bloomy, who had been shot in the face and leg. Tamara rushed her to emergency surgery, saving her life. Bloomy marks the first of many rescues and the moment that Give Me a Paw was born.
Since then, GMAP has faced it all: three shelter evictions and relocations, Lebanon’s economic collapse, COVID, the 2022 mass dog dump, and most recently, the war of 2024. Countless heartbreaks, sleepless nights, and just enough happy tails to keep us going.

What makes our shelter unique
Pack life in nature
Our shelter dogs are grouped into packs based on their temperament and relationships, with each pack having its own outdoor playground, sleeping, and feeding area. Nestled in a pine forest near a waterfall and river, our outdoor space offers the dogs freedom and a connection to nature.
Saturday Shelter Days
Weather permitting, every Saturday we welcome visitors to spend time with our dogs and experience the space. It’s a special day where the dogs enjoy cuddles, grooming, and walks, and get the chance to experience human connection with new faces. Follow us on Instagram to join!
Dedicated team care
Our dedicated volunteers and on-site staff provide daily care, love, and attention to every dog. We closely monitor each dog’s health and ensure all their needs are met. We are commited to create a safe and nurturing environment where every dog feels loved and is cared for.
