Common Q&As About Fostering

One of the best ways you can help a shelter dog is by fostering. Fostering not only changes the life of that one dog, but also enables Give Me A Paw to make room for other dogs and devote more attention to them. So, to get started with the process, here are a few common queries we receive about fostering in Lebanon with GMAP:

What is fostering?

Fostering  in Lebanon is like temporary adoption. This means that you “adopt” the animal for a fixed period of time, depending on his/her needs.

Common Q&As About Fostering in Lebanon with GMAP

Who needs fostering?

Very young or old animals, ones with special needs, and those that are recovering from injuries or requiring specific medical care. This is basically any animal that needs one-on-one attention, a quiet environment, and/or something that is difficult for the shelter staff or environment to provide.

What are the requirements to foster?

Just love, dedication, and patience! Of course our dogs should be kept indoors and in a safe and comforting environment. Our team and staff will provide you with all the information, guidance, and supplies that you need. Fostering with GMAP is free of charge.

What is the fostering process at GMAP?

1. Fill in the fostering form on our site.

How will you benefit from fostering?

1. You will be helping an animal in need.

2. You can get to know whether you are okay with adopting; fostering can act as a “trial period”.

3. You can gain experience caring for a pet in general if you’ve never done it before.

4. You might end up being a “failed foster parent” (i.e. you end up getting so attached to the animal you are fostering that you decide to adopt)!
